4-Plex Apartment on College Ave, Projects /

4-Plex renovations began this week

This week, the Black Power Blueprint began renovations at the 4-plex apartment earmarked for the African Independence Workforce Program: housing and job training for our brothers and sisters coming out of the colonial prison system.

The demo crew from Paradigm Builders has been cleaning out debris, removing walls and old light and bathroom fixtures.

Demolition of 4007-09 W. Florissant Ave. begins

On Monday, August 17 – the birthday of Marcus Garvey – we celebrated the expansion of the Black Power Blueprint by starting the demolition of two more properties left to rot for the past 30 years. In its place we are considering building a retail space. These sites will continue our liberation of land for the economic future of the African working class!

The Gary Brooks Community Garden is flourishing!

The corner of Alice St. and West Florissant in North St. Louis, once the site of crumbling buildings, is now home to a beautiful blossoming destination—the Gary Brooks Community Garden and outdoor event space.

From vision to reality! Nothing can stop the African working class from doing for ourselves!

Gary Brooks Community Garden looking beautiful!

The Black Power community garden is looking so beautiful, and Mr. Gary along with his wonderful brother and nephew have been so hard at work preparing the food to grow, and planting a variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and trees.

Just last week they built the bean poles, as Mr. Gary soaked the bean seeds overnight so they would be ready to shoot up and grow around the poles like a vine.
